23 Jan 2006 - Typical Outlet Point discharging effluent
The Inver River like most rivers in Northern Ireland has combined storm/sewage outlet points plus numerous domestic, industry and agricultural discharge points. Our Association were promised by the Water Service that the new Waste Water Treatment Works in Larne would bring about the closure of 23 storm/sewage outlet points, however they now appear to be reconsidering this decision. The Association will be raising this issue with the Water Service. We will also be raising the issue of all the other effluent discharge points that have not got a 'Consent to Discharge' with the Environment and Heritage Service.
