Welcome to Larne and District Angling Association

Running Costs

As our Association is run by Volunteers and annual subscription monies are used in the day to day running of the Association plus the cost of our members insurance we had to come up with ideas to enable the Association to run the hatchery on a year to year basis. We are proud to now announce that due to the endeavours of our Project Manager (Frank Quigley) and our Chairman (David Kernohan) we have secured the right to organise and stage the Angling Activities for the:-

29th BASC Northern Ireland Game Fair to be held on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April 2006 at Ballywalter Park, Ards Peninsula, Co Down.

This is Northern Ireland's premier country sports event and we will stage various events over the two day period. Should this venture prove to be a success we would hope to make this a yearly activity. (See News Link for Ballot Winner)

We will also be at the Glenarm open days on 13th and 14th July where we will again be running a ballot to-wards the running costs of the hatchery. (See News link for winner of the 17 foot Lake Angling Boat)

If members can think of ways to raise funds to-wards the Hatchery running costs that have not been tried as yet, please contact a committee member or sent you suggestion via the Enquiry Link.

We have released all our young sea trout and some young brown trout from the Hatchery into the upper Inver River in May. We are holding over 1000 brown trout which will be fed on and then released in the river later on this year.
